The Patriot Act

Section 326 of the USA PATRIOT ACT requires that all financial institutions obtain, verify, and record information identifying each person who opens a new account or changes an existing account. This is a federal requirement that applies to all new customers and current customers. The United States government uses this information to fight against the funding of terrorism and money laundering.

When you open a new account or change an existing account, we ask you and anyone else on the account for their name, physical and mailing addresses, date of birth, and other information that will identify them for us. We ask to see each person’s driver’s license and other identifying documents. We copy or record information from each of them, and may take additional steps to verify the information that you provide.
